Epiphone Vintage 1984 Japanese Casino Japan Matsumoko Semi-Hollow w/ HSC
Up for sale here we have a superb example of a very early Japanese Epiphone Casino in stunning looking natural finish. It was built at the Matsumoku factory in Japan in 1984 and is probably the cleanest 80's Matsumoto Casino we have ever had at GSG. Really nice build quality on these old Matsumokos with special attention to Kalamazoo specs of the 1960s. It’s one of the essential rock & roll hollowbodies. These Japanese Epiphone Casinos are consistently superb in our opinion, we have never had one we didn't love. The build quality is exceptional. It’s a good solid weight at 3.2kg with a comfortable 3-piece maple neck on the thicker side (nut width 43mm) with some nice maple flame showing. Again, the condition is superb for such an old Japanese Casino. The electronics are all untouched, with nickel pickup covers on the P-90s and the gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls are original. This one still has its original white E branded 3-ply pickguard fitted. The guitar is a stunner and is ageing very gracefully, with uniform surface patina on the pickup covers, bridge, and trapeze tailpiece. There have been no breaks or repairs. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It’s also a very smooth player and those original dog ear P90s sound immense. This is a really nice example of a Casino, it plays and sound sounds absolutely immense, one to fall instantly in love with. Complete with original booklet and vintage hardcase, all latches a bit rusty but working. A rare chance to get hold of the perfect vintage Japanese Casino.
