If you like your Fender Japan '62 Customs a little bit lighter with a slightly thicker neck profile this if the one to go for. It's a top of the line 1962 Reissue Custom Telecaster (TL62B-TX) from the Dyna period of Fender Japan (this is not a Mexican guitar). It's in a beautiful deep warm three tone sunburst with cream body binding. It’s a CIJ P-Serial from 1999-2002 with a quality lightweight alder body, upgraded from USA Texas Specials to big sounding Van Zandt Vintage Plus Telecaster pickups, 3-ply cream pickguard & 3 spiral saddles. This one has a surprisingly chunky neck carve for a Fender Japan TL62b, they are usually thinner. Some really nice tonewoods were used here too. It has a nice looking & feeling slab rosewood fingerboard with 7.25 radius. It looks great with a super thin finish on the body and the white body binding starting to yellow nicely with age. Sonically the pickups sound great. Really resonant too when unplugged and feels great to play. Weight is pretty light for an alder TL62b at 3.4kg! Structurally and electrically sound. Neck dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. No issues at all. No breaks or repairs. All 100% original. Obviously it is around a quarter of a century old now so does have some playwear, some scratches & bumps etc, but all gently easing it towards being a real vintage looker. Any bright spots you see on the body are just overhead spotlights reflecting, there are no harsh paint chips or anything like that. Complete with period correct Fender softcase, part of the puller is broken (as usual on these) but it can still be gripped and still zips up fine . A very cool Fender MIJ ’62 reissue Three Tone Sunburst Custom Telecaster.
