Fender Stratocaster Japan 1962 RI Piano Black Tex Specials CIJ N-Serial w/ Docs

Here is a very cool late 90's Fender FujiGen/Tokai built 1962 Reissue Stratocaster factory finished in Piano Black. It’s a Fender Japan CIJ N-Serial. We don’t get many N-serials with a CIJ prefix so I’m gonna estimate the build date at around the beginning of the CIJ period (late 90's) as it could be an old left over Fujigen N-serial MIJ with the CIJ prefix added when production had shifted away from FujiGen briefly to Tokai. Either way, it’s a very cool looking and superb playing '62 RI Strat (ST62-TX). You will find meticulous attention to detail as you’d expect from a Japanese guitar built at Tokai or FujiGen. It has a thick neck with a dark streaked slab Indian rosewood fingerboard with a 7.25 radius, Fender stamped saddles, USA Texas Specials and 3-ply white pickguard, now yellowed like all the other plastic hardware (which looks great against the Piano Back finish). It has an alder body and maple neck. The neck is dead straight, truss rod fine with plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. The USA made Texas Specials sound great on this one. Weight 3.5kg. No issues at all. No breaks or repairs. No modifications. It is in well along the road to a stunning vintage Strat with all th metal hardware showing a dull grey patina and the plastics aged and meowed. There are some bumps and scuffs etc but no big paint chips. You get all the good looking ageing and none of th ebad stuff. Complete with original Japanese issue documents, tremolo arm & tweed style Stratocaster hardcase (with key). A beautifully built ’62 RI Stratocaster in a cool Strat colour!
