Gibson Les Paul Junior Special Plus Japanese Yamano Order Tiger Eye Flame 2001
Up for grabs is this rare 2001 USA Gibson Les Paul Junior Special Plus Tiger Eye Flame Single Cut which was made for Japan only. It was one of a series of very limited edition highly figured Les Pauls made for Japan back in 2001. There are only a handful out there. It is a Yamano order which was exported from Japan and comes with its original Japanese Yamano docs. It is a stunning looking les Paul, and very playable. It has a nitro finish over highly figured maple top with all gold hardware and solid mahogany body with a rosewood fingerboard. Great feeling mahogany neck with long neck tenon, which which has a thinner 60's profile carve, it feels really nice to play. The original stock 490/498's sound great. Weight is 3.6kg. Neck is dead straight and truss rod fine, lots of life left in the frets. There's a little play wear with a few little dings here & there. Some bucklerash on the back. The gold plating on the metal hardware is beginning to tarnish. Complete with original Gibson hardcase and Japanese Yamano docs. A fantastic player and nice investment piece. You wont see many more of these come up for sale.
