Gibson Les Paul Standard 2001 Yamano Order Aged Honeyburst Non-Chambered w/ OHSC

Gibson Les Paul Standard 2001 Yamano Order Aged Honeyburst Non-Chambered w/ OHSC

£1,995.00Price

Here is a really nice vintage non-chambered Gibson Les Paul Classic Honeyburst from 2001. It's been given a pro Slash makeover in Japan with some nice relic processed ageing. These old turn of the century Standards are phenomenal guitars and this is testament to that; it looks and plays fantastic with plenty of old mojo going on... It’s a superb looking dark aged honeyburst with maple graining all over. On top of that this is a hand selected Yamano order which we recently bought over from Japan. Please read up on these if you don't know about them. Anyway it has absolutely no breaks or repairs. Being a Standard it has a chunky '59 neck and weighs in at a decent 4.3kg (non-chambered remember…) Lots of life left in the frets, the truss rod is fine and the neck is straight. No problems structurally or electrically. It has had Slash Seymour Duncan humbuckers fitted and no longer has the originals. The honeyburst finish has darkened over the decades, as have white plastics, the binding has aged to a deep yellow and the metal hardware has taken on a tarnished grey patina. It’s got all the good ageing with none of the bad stuff and is well along the road to being a real vintage looker. The relicing looks very good and there is some Slash text on the back of the headstock. There was a pickguard once fitted but it has now been removed. Why anyone would choose a sterile new Les Paul over a beautiful old worn in Honeyburst Standard like this I will never understand. Complete with original Tan Gibson HSC and Japanese Yamano booklet. All latches fine and combi-lock is working with no problems. A very special 60's Gibson Les Paul honeyburst Standard from the good wood years.
