Gibson Stunning 1996 Custom Shop 1958 Historic Reissue Les Paul Standard Burst

Every now & then a Les Paul comes along that stops me in my tracks. This is one of those guitars. Quite simply one of the most beautiful Custom Shop historic 1958 reissues we I ever had for sale. It has an astounding 2-piece maple top with mahogany back and neck. It’s a real head-turner and there aren’t many of these out there. It’s from 1996, (bang in the middle of Gibson’s good wood era) and perhaps unsurprising that it was hand-selected by Yamano for export to Japan, which bears testimony to Yamano getting all the greatest Les Paul tops in the period they imported for Gibson. It’s in all original condition with a comfortable thicker 1958 profile neck carve and weighs in at a good solid 4.2kg. Plenty of life left in the frets (never been refretted, still has its fret end binding), the truss rod is fine and the neck is dead straight. No problems either structurally or electrically. It is in exceptional condition for the period with just light playwear. No buckle rash etc on the back. There have obviously been no breaks, mods or repairs. Comes with Japanese Yamano booklet & red-lined tan Gibson HSC. I’ll let the pics tell the rest of the story, early custom shop builds with tops like and in this kind of condition only come around rarely so don’t miss it. A great playing Les Paul and being a Yamano with a top like this, an excellent investment opportunity!
