Orville by Gibson 1991 ES-335 Dot Neck Semi-Hollow Guitar Cherry w/ 57 Classics
From the great ObG Years. Orville by Gibson made some beautiful Japanese guitars back in the 1990’s, ObG was fully approved and authorised by Gibson USA. These were the result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor Yamano Gakki. Named after Gibson's founder, Orville Gibson, this discontinued Orville model was crafted at the Terada factory. Rest assured it is in 100% original condition with its original Gibson '57 Classics and Gibson Deluxe tuners. Looks-wise it is stunning. The binding is nice and tight and has yellowed over the decades. The metal hardware has taken on a smooth grey vintage patina. The neck has a comfortable '59 profile carve. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine and plenty of life left in the frets, there have been NO breaks, repairs or mods. Weight is good at 3.7kg. There is some playwear as you'd expect with plenty little bumps and scuffs all over and some clouding of the clearcoat on the headstock. Comes complete with a pretty cool looking fitted black Japanese leatherette 335 softcase. Overall a very cool looking and wonderful playing ObG ES-335. A little piece of Gibson/Japanese history.
