Stunning Vintage 1981 Epiphone (Nihon Gibson) Japanese Casino Japan

£1,695.00Price

Up for sale here we have a truly beautiful example of a vintage Epiphone Casino in stunning natural finish. Built at the Matsumoku factory in Japan in 1981. It is stunning looking guitar in every respect. It is in fully complete original condition. Really nice build quality on these old Matsumokos with special attention to Kalamazoo specs of the 1960s. It’s one of the essential rock & roll hollowbodies. The Japanese Epiphone Casinos are consistently superb in our opinion, we have never had one we didn't love. The build quality here is exceptional. This is nice and  light for a Matsomoko at 2.9kg with a comfortable 3-piece maple neck. It has the correct Japanese Matsomoko beige label viewable from the f-hole. The electronics are all untouched, with the original nickel pickup covers on the P-90s, the gold reflector cap knobs on the Volume and Tone controls and the original Epiphone tuners. It still has the original Nihon Gibson sticker on the neck and the original white E branded 3-ply pickguard fitted. It has uniform surface patina on the pickup covers, bridge, and trapeze tailpiece and some yellowing of the binding, one of the only real indications of how hold this beauty is.  No huge ugly dings anywhere, no bucklerash etc.  There have obviously been no breaks or repairs. Neck is dead straight truss rod checked and functioning fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It’s also a very smooth player and those original dog ear P90s sound immense. If you are interested in finding one of the very best examples of a vintage Japanese Casino still left out there, this one is your guitar. Complete with later Korean made Epiphone Casino HSC with is in fine condition with no issues.

Here is a scarce 2021 Fender Japan Offset Telecaster in Fiesta Red. These were only made as a limited run for Ikebe in Japan as far as we are aware. It will be tough to track down anywhere else in the world. It’s obviously a Japanese Fender, not Mexican, so has fantastic build quality coupled with both vintage & modern specs. It has an basswood body with a maple fingerboard (9.5 radius) & single-ply pickguard (still has protective film covering). A surprisingly thicker neck than you'd expect which is a really nice touch. It doesn't feel like a toy! Very resonant and feels great to play. Neck is dead straight, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. Structurally and electrically sound. No breaks or repairs. No modifications. Very clean, never had an owner. Weight is 3.6kg. Complete with gig bag, all documents, Ikebe card & tool. Guitar is without wear or blemishes. We will not be offering these again so please be quick!
