Tokai Vintage Japanese LS-50 'Love Rock' Single Cutaway 1981 Faded Sunburst

The Tokais from 1979-1985 (Reborn (Old) & Love Rocks) are our absolute favourites of all of the vintage Japanese Les Pauls. The consistency in quality of finish and feel over the LS models through these years is astounding. We have never found a bad one. Up here is a really nice 1981 LS-50 ‘Love Rock’. Non-chambered Mahogany body with 3 piece maple top, set-neck and beautifully streaked rosewood fingerboard. Lovely ’58 looking plaintop on this with some really nice maple grain. Weighs in at 4.4kg. Just solid dry old growth tonewoods here. You can feel the resonance. It’s got vintage Gotoh double cream humbuckers and a comfortable ‘59 profile neck. It has some lovely vintage ageing all over the plastics with the white binding turning off white and the metal hardware nicely tarnished giving it a really cool vibe. Well on the way to being a vintage looker. It is solid and chunky and plays like a good old Les Pauls should. Straight neck, truss rod fine, plenty of life left in the frets. It's got all the usual dings and scratches you find with the old Japanese Les Pauls. A well worn in. Absolutely no breaks, repairs or mods. The high E tuning stem has a slightly wonky turn, but not an issue at all. The 'Love Rock' text has worn off the headstock.
